The Session

The headshot session is designed to provide you the marketing materials needed to promote yourself within the entertainment industry.  In order to do this, we will shoot a minimum of 3 different looks on you. We like to give everyone a wide range of looks, so that you are able to use multiple shots for different marketing purposes. I don’t put a strict limit on the number of shots I’ll take, so we will shoot each look until I feel I’ve gotten it covered.  Once you are done we’ve usually shot anywhere between 150-250 shots during the session.  We will edit the entire shoot down through an approval process to the best pictures. You'll end up with somewhere between 50-75 final shots that you have approved as potential candidates. By shooting and editing in this manner, we can adjust the focus of the shots to account for anything that we feel we may have missed. You also get to be involved in the process, and we get to discuss what you are doing as a team. This insures that you are pleased with the outcome of the session.

The shots we take during the session will be made available on your own password protected mini-website that can be accessed at my personal proofing site HERE.  You will be able to give the username and password to friends, family, agents, casting directors and anyone else who might help you choose the shots you decide to use.  The site is a perfect tool for choosing your shots and a great way to get feedback from others.

Retouching & Printing

Once you've chosen your final shots you'll place your order for retouching through your proofing gallery. You will receive 2 retouched headshots (1 for power hour session) for booking with me.  For quality control purposes all of my work is handled by my retoucher, so if you choose to shoot with me, you will not be given high resolution files for your retouching and printing on your own. This helps to ensure the quality of my product from beginning to end. For any questions regarding this please feel free to discuss it with me.

After the shoot we will process the files at high resolution, prep them for printing, and retouch them for you. Each additional photo can be retouched for an additional $45 per shot. Upon choosing your shots, we will work on them and send you proofs for approval. You will be allowed to submit one revision for anything that you feel needs to be addressed.  Once you have approved of the photo(s) and completed your purchase you will receive a digital download of the full resolution photo(s) you have purchased.

Your Clothing

I ask that everyone bring a bunch of different looks for themselves. For the most part, you only need to bring along shirts and blouses, unless you plan on doing a bunch of three-quarter length shots as well. The best advice I can give you is that you bring a variety of your favorite tops. I may choose to shoot more than 3 looks, so make sure you have a nice range of looks with you.

Rule #1: You have to love it!  Any number of things can work, but my clients tend to shoot with greater success when they are wearing things they feel great in.  Don’t be afraid to mix it up with different cuts, colors, layers and textures. Bring attire that reflect you and your personality.

Hair & Makeup

For my New York clients my makeup artist is available. The cost of makeup for women is $200 for the session. If you feel you can handle make-up on your own, that is ok, but not recommended.  I want you 100% focused on your shoot, so handling makeup can be a distraction. Makeup worn for a shoot can vary greatly from what you are used to wearing everyday, so it's important to have a professional there for you.  If you do decide to do your own, then make sure you show up with your makeup ready to roll. You also have the option to have them handle your hair as well for and additional $50.

My makeup artist starts very natural to give you a very clean look and will add makeup as wego. If you are not going to us handle the hair, we ask that everyone come in with their hair as if they were presenting themselves to a casting director for an audition. We want your headshot to match the way you look in person. It’s got to be something that you can recreate for an audition.  It's not required, but men can hire the makeup artist if you feel you need grooming on the shoot for $175.  Also, for guys who grow decent scruff, feel free to come with some growth. We can shoot with facial hair; you can shave, then we can shoot some more. So bring your razor, grooming tools, etc.

Cost & Scheduling

The Rate for a headshot session is $600 plus tax. There is a $300 deposit required to book a session, this is non-refundable and goes towards the $600 total. I accept cash, check and all major credit cards. (Visa, MasterCard, AMEX, Discover)

When shooting women that choose to have their makeup done, we stagger the sessions to allow for makeup. The sessions generally last about 2 hours without makeup and 2 1/2- 3 hours with a makeup artist. We ask our clients to give us 3 days notice should you need to cancel your session, otherwise you forfeit your deposit.

Consultations

I am happy to meet with anyone for a free consultation in the studio, phone or skype. In person consultations are a little difficult due to my traveling. During a consultation you will get to know me a bit, we will go over some of the details of the shoot, and answer any other questions you may have.

Closing

Thanks for taking the time to read through all this Information. I know it’s a ton of stuff, but I hope this has given you a good idea of what to expect. If you still have questions feel free to ask!  I look forward to working with you!
